Education
José Maria holds a bachelor‘s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and an MBA in marketing and finance from IE Business School and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Career
He started his career working in management consultancy, developing projects of optimization and business improvement for companies in the fields of energy and health. He joined the cement industry in 2005, leading the construction and later management and expansion of a large independent producer of cement and concrete in the Middle East. In 2016, he became the CEO of Suez Cement Group (an HM subsidiary), the largest building construction materials holding in Egypt. Since 2022, he has been the CEO of Heidelberg Materials Trading, managing the international seaborne business of the group.
